Arrests Follow Retail Thefts at Walmart, Lowe's

Scott Township police blotter, April 16 to April 21.

The following information was supplied by the Scott Township Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Several people are facing charges after two separate theft incidents last week, one at Walmart and one at Lowe's.

Rhonda Abbondanza, 36, and Gaylen Thomas, 41, both of Pittsburgh's Brookline neighborhood, were charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property after reportedly shoplifting clothes from the Walmart in Raceway Plaza on April 16.

Three days later, in an unrelated incident on April 19, Geno Mitchell, 24, and Bianca John, 24, both of Pleasant Hills, were arrested for retail theft at the Lowe's Home Improvement store in the same plaza. Both were released from custody and charges will be filed via summons.

April 16

  • A resident of the Cochran Hall Apartments told police a credit card was stolen between 12:30 and 1 p.m. on April 14 and used at several locations. Scott Township police are investigating the incident.
  • A tax return was falsely filed under a resident's name. Scott Township police have turned the investigation over to the IRS.

April 18

  • Travis Coles, 18, of Scott Township, was cited for disorderly conduct after his involvement in an altercation on Locust Street, according to the police report.
  • Police are investigating a report that tools stolen from a customer's truck while parked in the lot of Lowe's Home Improvement in Raceway Plaza.
  • Metal grates were stolen from a driveway in 300 block of Torrence Avenue.

April 20

  • Dante O'Donnell, 32, Steven Jacob, 27, and Darcy Sandy, 24, all of Pittsburgh, were charged with various drug-related offenses after a traffic stop conducted in the 1000 block of Washington Avenue.
