Streetscape Project Through Carnegie, Glendale and Heidelberg Beginning

The multi-million dollar streetscape project that will snake from Carnegie through Glendale and into Heidelberg is finally beginning after years of planning and delays.

The multi-million dollar streetscape project that will snake from Carnegie through Glendale and into Heidelberg is finally beginning after years of planning and delays. Federal, state and local leaders earlier this month celebrated the launch of the Tri-Community Streetscape Project that is officially set to begin in January. The work will rebuild the sidewalks and roads while upgrading lighting and other infrastructure along Third Street in Carnegie, Carothers Avenue in Scott Township and Route 50 in Heidelberg. Opinions Wanted on Tri-Community Revitalization

Residents are asked for their input for the project through Heidelberg, Scott and Carnegie.

Residents living in Scott, Heidelberg and Carnegie are being asked to offer their opinions on the Tri-Community Revitalization Project that is planned for the three towns. The meeting will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Carnegie Municipal Complex located at 1 Veterans Way. The three towns are involved in a project to revitalize Route 50 in Heidelberg, Third Street in Carnegie and Carothers Avenue in Scott. PennDOT is repaving the roads and the towns are making improvements to the curbs and sidewalks. But a third portion of the revitalization is how to help improve other aspects of the corridor. Municipal officials want the residents and business owners along that stretch to offer their input as they draft a comprehensive plan. The $2.8 million…
