Collier Replacing Plows After Snowstorms

Collier Township had problems with some of its plow trucks during the snowy weather last weekend.

Collier Township had problems with some of its plow trucks at the worst time of the year. Two plows broke during the snowy weather last weekend and another truck sustained significant mechanical problems, township officials said. The plows had to be removed from the two trucks because they were no longer functioning, but the trucks were still able to salt the roads during the winter storm that hit the region on Dec. 29. There were several other plows working during the snowstorm. The other truck, however, had some sort of mechanical that caused about $10,000 worth of damage, township Manager Sal Siraballa said. “We got hit this year,” Sirabella said. The township is now looking to replace the two plows. It’s not known when they’ll purchase…
