Trader Joe's Recalls Frozen Chicken Dinner
The product could be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, health officials in the U.S. and Canada said.
For the third time this year, a Trader Joe's product has been recalled. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service on Monday announced that Aliya’s Foods Limited, one of Trader Joe's producers, will recall boxes of the "Butter Chicken with Basmati Rice” line, the Huffington Post reported. Aliya's will recall 4,865 pounds of frozen butter chicken and rice imported from Canada because the food may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The product is sold in a 12.5-ounce box. A representative from the Trader Joe's media department said the recall only affects the butter chicken products with the packaging code 30512—a Julian date code indicating that the product was produced on Oct. 31, 2012.
