I am so tired of construction! I know this is when it HAS to be done, but could we please finish something before we start another? I live in Nevillewood and Prestly road being closed adds 15-20 minutes to my drive and if Route 50 is delayed, it will be longer. By the way...I almost NEVER see anyone working at the construction sight on Prestly. I heard there is a certain contractor that bid on …   more ›

Agree with the other comments, this area is at critical mass as far as traffic goes...you can't keep cramming more and more cars through that one intersection and expect things to run smoothly. The officer directing traffic there is clueless and needs to be replaced with efficiently timed signals that are tied into the other ones nearby. The officer thinks he's doing a great job by allowing …   more ›

What Should Replace Cici’s Pizza?

We’re asking our readers what you want to see go into the former Cici's Pizza location in the Chartiers Valley Shopping Center after it closed months ago.

Cici’s Pizza at Chartiers Valley Shopping Center has been closed for months, so we’re asking our readers what you want to see go into the former restaurant’s location. The empty restaurant along highly-traveled Route 50 is just a few doors down from Dunham’s sporting goods store and the DMV. It would make a perfect spot for a new restaurant or shop. What does this area need that it doesn’t already have nearby? So, if you could see any business in this location, what would you like in the plaza? If not a restaurant, what else do you see here? Use your imagination and tell us in the comment section! Like the Chartiers Valley Patch Facebook page or sign up for our Daily E-mail Newsletter!

A driver suffered serious injuries late Monday night when he lost control of his pick-up truck on Route 50 and crashed into a utility pole across from Collier Town Square. Robert Cubic, 40, of Carnegie, was driving east on Washington Pike when he crashed into the pole, Collier police Chief Tom Devin said. MedExpress Almost Ready to Open in South Fayette

A MedExpress is opening soon after construction crews ripped down the old Burger King in South Fayette.

Construction crews quickly erected a beautiful new tan and brown building in the spot where the Burger King along Washington Pike in South Fayette used to stand. Chartiers Valley Patch posted a story in July about the new business, but several readers have sent emails asking about what is going in the prime spot. It’s going to be a MedExpress Urgent Care Unit, and it’s going to open very soon. That announcement disappointed some readers and energized others who were glad that the new tax base would benefit South Fayette. Although the building looks nearly completed, it’s not known when the MedExpress will open its doors. South Fayette and company officials could not be reached for comment. Demolition crews quickly razed the old Burger King…
