CV Baseball Takes on KO in Playoff Game Wednesday

The Chartiers Valley Colts will take on the Keystone Oaks Golden Eagles today, Wednesday, May 15.

The Chartiers Valley Colts baseball team takes on the Keystone Oaks Golden Eagles in the second round of playoffs today, Wednesday, May 15, at 4:30 p.m. The Colts won their first-round playoff game 2-1 in eight innings against the Bell Vernon Leopards. For more information about that game, see this article in the Pittsburgh Tribune Review. Wednesday's game against the Golden Eagles will be at the Upper St. Clair Community Rec. Both Chartiers Valley Basketball Teams Advance to WPIAL Championship Finals

The Chartiers Valley boys’ and girls’ basketball teams both won their semifinal playoff games Tuesday night to advance to the WPIAL Championship games.

The Chartiers Valley boys’ and girls’ basketball teams both won their semifinal playoff games Tuesday night to advance to the WPIAL Championship games. Both basketball teams controlled the scoreboard for most of their games at North Allegheny High School. The Chartiers Valley Colts blew out Beaver 68-43 and will once again play in the WPIAL championship game, according to The Almanac's @SHAlmanacSports Twitter feed. They will play Montour for the AAA WPIAL title. The Lady Colts beat rival Mt. Lebanon 31-27 to advance to their first ever WPIAL finals in school history, according to the district’s official Twitter feed at @CVSDcolts. CV Mounts Big Comeback to Beat South Fayette in WPIAL Playoffs

The Chartiers Valley boys’ basketball team came back in the second half to beat rival South Fayette in the WPIAL basketball playoffs. Also, the Lady Colts beat USC and will play Mt. Lebanon in the AAAA semi-finals.

Top-seeded Chartiers Valley mounted a furious comeback in the second half to beat rival South Fayette and advance to the semi-final round of the WPIAL basketball playoffs Friday night. Things were looking bleak at halftime when the Colts trailed South Fayette 35-30 going into the intermission, and things appeared to sour even more when the Lions scored the first seven points in the third quarter. But the Colts got back in the game by mounting a fast comeback to take a 47-46 lead heading into the fourth quarter. South Fayette then once again turned the momentum and roared to a 9-point lead with 5 minutes to go in the game. But CV came back again to cut the lead to 2 with 3 minutes left and took the lead shortly after. The top-seeded Colts …

CV Beats Knoch in WPIAL Playoffs

The Chartiers Valley Colts boys’ basketball team beat the Knoch Knights on Tuesday night to advance in the AAA WPIAL playoffs.

The Chartiers Valley boys’ basketball team blew out Knoch on Tuesday night to advance in the AAA WPIAL playoffs. The Colts easily beat the Knights 77-43 at North Allegheny High School in their first game in these playoffs. The top-seeded Colts now will face Division 5 rival South Fayette at 8 p.m. Friday at Canon-Mac. Lady Colts Beat Shaler in WPIAL Basketball Playoffs

The Chartiers Valley Lady Colts held off a furious comeback from Shaler to advance in the WPIAL basketball playoffs with a razor-thin 31-29 victory.

The Chartiers Valley Lady Colts held off a furious comeback from Shaler to advance in the WPIAL basketball playoffs with a razor-thin 31-29 victory. The CV girls’ basketball team held a 15-12 lead at halftime during their first-round AAAA playoff game against the Titans at North Hills High School. They dominated Shaler in the third quarter, appearing to blow open the game with a 24-12 lead going into the final quarter. But the Titans mounted a furious comeback in the fourth quarter and trailed by 26-24 with a minute remaining in the game. But Chartiers Valley was able to hold on for a 31-29 win. The Chartiers Valley Colts lost to West Allegheny 48-0 on Friday night in what was Chris Saluga's final game as head coach.

The Chartiers Valley Colts lost to West Allegheny 48-0 on Friday night in what was Chris Saluga's final game as head coach. Saluga announced he was resigning as Chartiers Valley’s football coach, but he still was on the sidelines for the final game of the season. Saluga, who has coached the Colts for the past 12 years and has the most wins in school history, told the team after practice Thursday. He said there was no single reason why he’s leaving, but he thought it would be best for both sides to start fresh. “I just think it’s the best for me and the program,” Saluga told Chartiers Valley Patch. Chartiers Valley has had a disappointing season after moving to the powerhouse Parkway Conference this year. The Colts finished the season 2-7 …

The Chartiers Valley Colts lost to the Blackhawk Cougars on the road Friday night in WPIAL high school football. The Cougars beat the Colts 48-25 in the WPIAL Parkway Conference game, according to WPXI-TV. The Colts (2-6, 1-6) play West Allegheny at home on Oct. 26 for their final game of the season.
