The expansion of the Giant Eagle in Virgina Manor has hit a roadblock and no one knows why.
Giant Eagle announced last year it planned to expand its grocery store in Virginia Manor by 6,000 feet to accommodate more customers by the end of 2012. But more than a year after that decision, which led to the closure or transfer of several other stores in the strip mall, the expansion project is delayed for a variety of reasons A Giant Eagle spokesman said construction probably won't be completed until mid-2013. However, a company spokesman told Chartiers Valley Patch in July 2011 that they expected to complete the work by the end of 2012. The bank announced plans Tuesday to introduce new video teller services, at both walk-up and drive-thru ATMs, into the Pittsburgh market. APTRA Interactive Teller provides banking customers with a convenient yet personal alternative to a live teller, as stated in a release. Customers will now be able to do their banking at non-traditional times or experience faster in-branch banking access at busy times of the day by accessing a live, remote teller via a video connection through an ATM machine. Lebanon location on Cochran Road, Starbucks will be forced to move a few doors down to the former Hollywood Tans suite.
