Bridgeville police Chief Chad King said officers arrived at the house at 169 Union St., shortly before 8 a.m. Friday to check on the children ages 5 and 8 after they said they couldn’t find their mother. When police came into the house, they said they found a large baggie of marijuana, a digital scale, a 40-caliber handgun with the serial numbers removed and $800 cash. Bridgeville police have arrested a Washington County man in connection with the burglary of a borough home last week. Police said a home in the 100 block of Union Street was broken into on Oct. 24 and several items inside the residence were stolen. The resident called police around 8:40 p.m. on the day of the burglary. Investigators eventually obtained a warrant for Brian Parris, 27, of Washington, and arrested him. He faces charges of burglary, criminal trespassing, theft and receiving stolen property. Numerous police officers and the Allegheny County SWAT Team stormed a Union Street home and recovered several stolen guns.
Several guns stolen from a Bridgeville home in September were recovered when numerous police officers and the Allegheny County SWAT Team stormed a Union Street residence earlier this month. Bridgeville police said four guns were stolen from a home on Sept. 20, prompting a search for the weapons. Police said their investigation led them to 173 Union St., where they served a “high risk” search warrant on Oct. 8. Officers found the three rifles and one shotgun, two of which apparently had their serial numbers filed off, during the raid, police said. A man apparently “angry about something” fired a rifle shot from the porch of his Union Street home earlier this month, Bridgeville police said. Police said they were called to the home shortly before 8 p.m. on Oct. 5 for a report of shots fired and found 54-year-old Ronald Oehm. He was arrested without incident, police said, after he allegedly shot one round from his 30-06 rifle into the air from his porch. Two other guns were seized from his home police said. “The shot was fired in the general direction of homes and businesses in Bridgeville and Collier Township,” police said in a press release. “Several people were on the front porch of the house next to Oehm’s at the time the shot was fired.” Police said Oehm was charged with reckless …
