Chartiers Valley School District ranked in the Top 50 of area high schools for best state standardized test scores. Chartiers Valley High School students ranked 35th in combined SAT scores, according to the Pittsburgh Business Times. The combined SAT score of 1,499 in 2012 was an increase of 2.5 percent over the previous year. "We’re hopeful this is indicative of the overall focus on increasing academic rigor throughout the Chartiers Valley School District," the district said in a written statement. "While we’re happy about this accomplishment, we recognize that the results of a single test aren't a comprehensive measure of success. The list was compiled from schools around Westerns Pennsylvania. There are more than 100 school districts in Allegheny, Beaver, Butler Washington and Westmoreland counties. But other counties in the other surrounding areas (Armstrong, Indiana, Lawrence, Greene and Fayette) may have also been included in list.   more ›
