Small Business Saturday is on Nov. 24 this year, two days after Thanksgiving. It is a day for everyone to support the small businesses that their community thrives on. American Express founded the day in 2010 to help small businesses get exposure during the holiday season, when they might be otherwise overlooked. With retailers buzzing around the holidays, it is important to support local small businesses that rely on their neighbors in order to continue prospering and building the local economy in Bridgeville, Collier, Heidelberg and Scott. A MedExpress is opening soon after construction crews ripped down the old Burger King in South Fayette.
Construction crews quickly erected a beautiful new tan and brown building in the spot where the Burger King along Washington Pike in South Fayette used to stand. Chartiers Valley Patch posted a story in July about the new business, but several readers have sent emails asking about what is going in the prime spot. It’s going to be a MedExpress Urgent Care Unit, and it’s going to open very soon. That announcement disappointed some readers and energized others who were glad that the new tax base would benefit South Fayette. Although the building looks nearly completed, it’s not known when the MedExpress will open its doors. South Fayette and company officials could not be reached for comment.
