Emergency crews responded to a rollover crash in the outbound lanes of the Parkway West near the Campbells Run Road exit. The crash happened around 12:30 p.m. Thursday in the westbound lanes near the township line between Robinson and Collier. PennDOT officials said the left lane was blocked and traffic was moving slowly in both directions. It’s not known if anyone was injured in the crash. Emergency responders removed the vehicle from the roadway around 1:45 p.m. and traffic was moving normally shortly afterward.

A driver and his two dogs somehow escaped injury after their sport-utility vehicle rolled over into Thoms Run stream near Presto. Emergency responders were called to the crash just off Thoms Run Road near the township line between Collier and South Fayette townships around 7 p.m. Monday, Presto fire Asst. Chief Glen Eger said. The driver apparently lost control during the heavy snowfall and the SUV slide off the bridge and into the stream. The vehicle was on its side in Thoms Run, so Eger said the firefighters had to do “a little bit of work get him out of there.” Eger found one dog sitting in the SUV and other dog under a seat. A Collier Township man suffered moderate injuries when the car he was driving rolled over on Prestley Road near Bridgeville earlier this month. Collier police said Andrew Nemec, 21, had to be taken to an area hospital with cuts to his face when his vehicle rolled over shortly after 2 a.m. on Oct. 11. Police said they charged Nemec with drunken driving and driving on the wrong side of the road following the early-morning crash near the Collier-Bridgeville municipal building line. Emergency crews responding to crashes on Vanadium Road is becoming a common occurrence nowadays. Two people suffered injuries in a two-car rollover crash at Vanadium and Main Street around 3:30 p.m. Monday. Bower Hill firefighters said one car rolled over after it was struck by another car. One of the drivers had to be extricated from the car, and both of the motorists were taken to Pittsburgh area hospitals with what were deemed minor injuries, firefighters said. It was the third crash in the area since Saturday and the second rollover crash at the intersection since Aug. 24. Scott Township police said they plan to charge the driver involved in the rollover crash last week near Vanadium Road with DUI.
Scott Township police said they plan to charge the driver involved in the rollover crash last week near Vanadium Road with DUI. Police said Paul Herstek, 27, of Sharpsburg, was driving under the influence when he crashed his shortly before 11 p.m. on Aug. 24 near the Bower Hill Volunteer Fire Department. Herstek was injured in the crash and taken to an area hospital. Police did not say how seriously he was injured. Herstek also faces charges of marijuana possession, other drug law violations and accident involving damage. Police plan to send a summons with the charges in the mail to Herstek.
