Is a New Business Moving Into the Former Colony Location?

A new business is moving into the former Colony restaurant location on Cochran Road in Scott.

A new business is moving into the former Colony restaurant location on Cochran Road, but what exactly it will be isn’t clear. A place called Club Colony is moving into the location, although it’s not know when the establishment will open and what it will offer. A liquor license application is on one of the windows right below a sign that boldly announces that the establishment is “NOW HIRING.” Workers were also seen painting parts of the building’s exterior and promised more work is being done inside. Neither property’s developer nor Scott Township officials returned repeated calls to discuss the new business. Andora was the most recent restaurant to open there, but it closed its doors last year and moved to a new location in Fox Chapel. …

Upper St. Clair and Bethel Park officials joined employees and VIGs (Very Important Guests) in celebrating the opening of the new South Hills Village Target Tuesday night. "The overall area is going to benefit from this," said Bob Orchowski, president of the Upper St. Clair Board of Commissioners. "I'm certain Target's going to be a great addition. Thank you and welcome." The new Target is one step below a Super Target. It includes a Starbucks and a grocery area with fresh produce. The store's "soft opening" to the public is on March 6. Its grand opening is March 10. The store is on the first floor of the former Boscov's, a building that remained vacant for years. Along with Orchowski, Bethel Park Mayor Clifford Morton, U.S. Rep. What Eatery Should Replace Andora?

Andora in Scott Township has been closed for about a year, so we’re asking our readers what type of restaurant would you like to see move into this prime location?

Andora in Scott Township has been closed for about a year, so we’re asking our readers what type of restaurant would you like to see move into this prime location? The building at Cochran and Greentree roads has been several different fancy restaurants in recent years and there have been many different reasons why they closed or relocated. If you could see any business in this location, what would you like in the plaza? If not a restaurant, what else do you see here? What restaurant does this area need that it doesn’t already have nearby? Use your imagination and tell us in the comment section! This is not a prime location at all. You can only enter and exit in one direction. Sheetz or any "convenience" store would not work there.   more ›

What Should Replace Cici’s Pizza?

We’re asking our readers what you want to see go into the former Cici's Pizza location in the Chartiers Valley Shopping Center after it closed months ago.

Cici’s Pizza at Chartiers Valley Shopping Center has been closed for months, so we’re asking our readers what you want to see go into the former restaurant’s location. The empty restaurant along highly-traveled Route 50 is just a few doors down from Dunham’s sporting goods store and the DMV. It would make a perfect spot for a new restaurant or shop. What does this area need that it doesn’t already have nearby? So, if you could see any business in this location, what would you like in the plaza? If not a restaurant, what else do you see here? The old Roth Carpet building in Mt. Lebanon is finally being demolished to make way for The Fresh Market grocery store.

The old Roth Carpet building in Mt. Lebanon is finally being demolished to make way for The Fresh Market grocery store. Demolition crews were at the property along Route 19 this past week ripping down the existing building with excavators and hauling off the debris in dump trucks. The property will be the site of The Fresh Market grocery store that offers “an old-style butcher shop and fish market, bakery, produce and floral stands.” A company spokeswoman said a lease has been signed for the location, but an opening date has not been set. She could not comment on the construction timeline, but said it is expected to begin relatively soon. According to The Fresh Market website, the store would convey an atmosphere of an old world European …

Bonefish Grill Has Something for Everyone

See what our Patch reporter found when she got a sneak peek inside the new seafood restaurant near South Hills Village Mall.

Bonefish Grill in Upper St. Clair is now open and has something for everyone. The restaurant chain is the first to open in the Pittsburgh area and is known for its fresh seafood. The Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer—tender, crispy shrimp tossed in a creamy, spicy (but not too spicy) sauce—is its most popular menu item. It's only $5 on Wednesdays. Customers can also try the Bang Bang Shrimp in a taco. Some of the other fish choices include Chilean sea bass, longfin tilapia and ahi tuna. Pair the fish with one of four sauces: warm mango salsa, chimichurri, lemon butter and pan Asian.  The kobe beef burger (must use two hands!) and Lily's Chicken—with goat cheese, sautéed spinach, artichoke hearts and a lemon basil sauce—are also very popular …
