Unsolved Cases: Jacob Lipp Went Missing in December

The North Huntingdon man had a fight with his girlfriend in the Strip District, and then vanished.

Jacob "Jake" Lipp, 27, did what many young adults do on the weekend—head to Pittsburgh's Strip District for the night life. He left his home in North Huntingdon Township. Westmoreland County, about 8:45 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, and ended up with his girlfriend at the Static bar on Smallman Street. The couple left the bar and then had an argument in the early morning hours on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012. The girlfriend drove off, leaving Jake in the parking lot. He walked in the opposite direction, back toward the bar. She circled the block and went back, but Jake was already gone. Missing Bridgeville Man Found Dead

Laurie "Larry" McDonald, the Bridgeville man who went missing Thursday night, has been found dead in Edgewood.

The missing Bridgeville man who vanished Thursday night has been found dead in Edgewood, according to authorities. The body of Laurie “Larry” McDonald, 81, was found in a wooded area not far from the Parkway East, Bridgeville police Chief Chad King said. WPXI-TV reported McDonald’s body was found around 4:30 p.m. Sunday. King said McDonald left for a doctor’s appointment in Homewood on Thursday and apparently got lost on his way home. He somehow ended up on an access road, King said, and either crashed his car or got stuck in the mud. McDonald then called his wife around 9 p.m. Thursday to say he saw a gas station and planned to walk through a wooded area to get assistance. Wilkinsburg police found the car around 9:30 p.m. and had it towed…

Police Searching For Missing Bridgeville Man

Have you seen this missing Bridgeville man? Police are searching for 81-year-old Larry McDonald after he went missing Thursday night.

Police are searching for an 81-year-old Bridgeville man who went missing Thursday night. Laurie “Larry” McDonald last spoke to his family by phone around 9 p.m. Thursday. His car was found on Ardmore Boulevard in Wilkinsburg. Police are asking people in the Wilkinsburg area to be on the look out for the missing Bridgeville man. Police said they are searching in the surrounding neighborhoods and wooded areas. McDonald is 5 feet, 8 inches tall, 160 pounds, has black hair, brown eyes, and wears eyeglasses. Man Found Dead on Montour Trail

Police said the missing Coraopolis man was found Friday morning near the Montour Trail.

A 69-year-old Coraopolis man reported missing has been found dead off the Montour Trail.  Moon Police Chief Leo McCarthy said Peter Cortese of Coraopolis was found dead shortly before 9 a.m. Friday off the trailway in Robinson Township. Robinson Police Lt. Ed Krall said Cortese's body was located by authorities about a quarter of a mile from Hassam Road, just off the trail. He said the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office removed Cortese from the area and found no initial signs of foul play.  Area police and firefighters aided by search dogs scoured the area off Hassam Road late Thursday night searching for the man. Family Increases Reward to Help Find Jimmy Slack

Up to $5,000 is available to anyone who has information on the missing Bridgeville man.

A month after Jimmy Slack disappeared from a concert in Pittsburgh, his family is increasing the financial reward available to anyone who has information about the missing Bridgeville man. “Any lead is a good lead,” said Maureen Shields, who is Slack’s sister. “We’re still at this. We’re not giving up.” The family decided to increase the reward from $1,000 up to $5,000 in an effort to get any information that might help them find the 25-year-old Bridgeville resident. Slack went missing on Dec. 7 after attending a String Cheese Incident concert at Stage AE on the North Side. Since then, there has been very little information about how he disappeared and Pittsburgh police detectives said few clues are surfacing. Shields said the family …
