Bridgeville & South Fayette Libraries Plan to Discuss Sharing Services

Bridgeville and South Fayette’s library boards have both agreed to begin discussing whether they can work closely together and share services.

Bridgeville Public Library’s board voted earlier this year to initiate discussions and South Fayette’s library board agreed to the idea at its meeting last month. EDITOR’S NOTE: This reporter is a member of the South Fayette Township Library Board It’s not known what, if anything, the two libraries could do to improve cooperation and share services, but Allegheny County Library Association Executive Director Marilyn Jenkins said the they could implement pioneering ideas for the area. “I think it’s a great opportunity for libraries to leverage the resources they have more effectively,” Jenkins said…

Heartland Homes Acquired By NVR

Heartland Homes, which is locked in a contentious showdown with Bridgeville over the new Bedner Farms neighborhood development, is now part of NVR, Inc.

Heartland Homes, which is locked in a contentious showdown with Bridgeville over the new Bedner Farms neighborhood development, is now part of NVR, Inc. NVR completed the acquistition on the second largest homebuilder in Pittsburgh on Dec. 31. NVR will continue to market under the Heartland Homes name, which is a  compliment to NVR's Ryan Homes business.  The acquisition is not expected to alter plans for the Bedner Farms neighborhood development in Upper St. Clair. "Heartland's operating strategy, which includes pre-selling homes and purchasing finished lots from land developers, is consistent with NVR's "asset light" business model. Bridgeville Library to Begin Talks with South Fayette

Bridgeville Public Library officials want to meet with their counterparts in South Fayette soon to see if the two groups can share or improve services for their patrons.

Bridgeville Public Library officials plan to meet with their counterparts in South Fayette soon to see if the two groups can share or improve services for their patrons. The two sides are still trying to figure out a date when they can meet to discuss whether there are mutual benefits to combine activities, collections, accounting services or events. Allegheny County Library Association Executive Director Marilyn Jenkins attended Bridgeville library’s Tuesday night board meeting to see if her organization could facilitate a meeting or the merging of some services.
