Two Arrested for Burglarizing Homes in Birdland

Two men were arrested after Scott Township police said they burglarized two homes in the Birdland neighborhood this week. Police said a resident returned to their home in the 1300 block of Meadowlark Drive shortly after noon on Jan. 8 and found the door open and markings on a rear door. Officers responding to the scene found Grant Goeckeler, 29, of Scott, and Brian Butt, 27, of Bridgeville, in the area with evidence that investigators say linked them to the burglary. "They were in custody minutes after officers arrived on scene," Scott Township police Sgt. Steve Fury said. Police said they later admitted to being involved in a burglary at another home in the same St. Clair Heights neighborhood. All the items were returned to the homeowners…
