Stage & Steel Productions Community Theatre presents “A Medieval Christmas Carol”—a new take on the classic Dickens tale. King Ebenezer must confront the ghosts of his past, present and future in order to appreciate the true meaning of the Yuletide. As in a true Stage & Steel production, there are sword fights, challenges and a tournament. Watch and become a part of the show as the players perform the classic story. The king is a cold-hearted man, refusing to join in the Yuletide cheer. One night, King Scrooge is paid a visit by his departed father, who foretells the king’s doom if he does not change his selfish ways. During the night, the king is visited by three ghosts. The Ghost of Yuletide Past escorts the miser king through his …

This third-grader's Christmas card delivers more than holiday cheer. It also delivers hope to those suffering from cancer.
Emily Washburn wanted to make a difference when she designed a Christmas card that won a contest organized by Edgar Snyder & Associates. The South Fayette Elementary School third-grader submitted her Christmas card that had a rainbow of different colored ribbons with one wish for the holidays: To cure all cancer. It was one of four winning designs selected by the Pittsburgh-based law firm that will be featured on their annual holiday cards. Emily was proud of her card’s message, especially after her school had just spent October raising awareness for breast cancer. “I think I put in a lot of effort because I had to draw the Christmas tree and the angels and the ribbons,” the 8-year-old said. Emily’s mother, Leslie Childers, said she found …
