Is a New Business Moving Into the Former Colony Location?

A new business is moving into the former Colony restaurant location on Cochran Road in Scott.

A new business is moving into the former Colony restaurant location on Cochran Road, but what exactly it will be isn’t clear. A place called Club Colony is moving into the location, although it’s not know when the establishment will open and what it will offer. A liquor license application is on one of the windows right below a sign that boldly announces that the establishment is “NOW HIRING.” Workers were also seen painting parts of the building’s exterior and promised more work is being done inside. Neither property’s developer nor Scott Township officials returned repeated calls to discuss the new business. Andora was the most recent restaurant to open there, but it closed its doors last year and moved to a new location in Fox Chapel. …

This is not a prime location at all. You can only enter and exit in one direction. Sheetz or any "convenience" store would not work there.   more ›

A bookstore and two other shops inside the Greentree Shopping Center were flooded early Thursday morning when a pipe beneath the sidewalk ruptured.

A bookstore and two other shops located inside the Greentree Shopping Center were flooded early Thursday morning when a pipe beneath the sidewalk ruptured, according to news reports. The hardest hit store in the Scott Township shopping center was Bradley’s Book Outlet, according to KDKA-TV. The Rite Aid pharmacy and Sherwin Williams paint store were also damaged when the 6-inch waterline, which apparently feeds the sprinkler system, broke around 5 a.m. Thursday, KDKA reported. But the bookstore apparently got the worst of it. A manager of Bradley’s Book Outlet told KDKA he hoped they could make repairs and be open by…
