Scott Township police said they charged a driver with DUI following a crash on Greentree Road earlier this month. Police said they were called to a two-vehicle crash near Carriage Park Apartments around 8:30 p.m. on April 4. Lara Szymanski, 42, of Pittsburgh, was charged with drunken driving and and also faces several traffic offenses following the crash, police said. Police did not say if there were any injuries resulting from the crash. Collier Township police are investigating four unrelated thefts in two weeks. Police were called to Tuesday Mornings in the Great Southern Shopping Center on March 24 after an employee there said her purse was stolen from the break room. Police said someone later used her bank card. On March 25, police said a resident reported to them that a ring worth $4,000 was stolen from her Noblestown Road home. Police said they arrested Clayton Gogarty, 24, and charged him with burglary and theft. Police were called to the Dunham’s in the Chartiers Valley Shopping Center on April 1 after store employees reported that a man had left with a golf club. Collier Township police arrested men following a fight at a Noblestown Road home earlier this month. Police said they were called to the Noblestown Road residence on March 14 and found the two men fighting. They charged George Howe, 49, and Ronald Kramer, 32, both of Collier Township, with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct. Police did not elaborate on what prompted the fight or if either man suffered any injuries. A Scott Township man was arrested earlier this month after police said he stole his elderly neighbor’s car and threatened her if she called authorities. Scott Township police said Robert Jasper, 47, took the woman’s car from her Elmbrook Lane home and was seen driving it around the neighborhood on March 8. The woman was fearful, police said, so she didn’t contact them. However, another person in the neighborhood noticed Jasper driving the woman’s car and called police. Police on the following day charged Jasper with theft and terroristic threats. He was released on those charges, but investigators later discovered he was wanted on other felony charges. Someone broke into a vacant Kirwan Heights home last week and stole copper piping from the residence. Collier Township police said a person who was cleaning the home on North Gray Avenue on March 7 to prepare it for sale found the house burglarized. Police said more than $200 worth of copper piping was taken from the vacant home. It’s not known when the copper piping was stolen. A caller reporting to police three people were trying to break-in to their Bridgeville home led to multiple arrests on gun charges. Bridgeville police said they received the call on Feb. 3 from a resident in the 100 block of Union Street that three people were trying to get into the home. “One of the people was a drug dealer known to carry a gun,” Bridgeville police said in a press release emailed to the media. An officer responding to the call saw a car leaving the area and stopped it, holding it at gunpoint until other officers arrived. Two women are accused of stealing nearly $500 worth of clothing from Walmart. Scott Township police said they charged Carlee Windsor, 22, of Pittsburgh, and India Lee, 20, of Carnegie, with retail theft for allegedly shoplifting the clothes on Feb. 11. Police said they also charged Lee with trespassing, false ID to police and child endangerment. Lee brought her 2-year-old child in a stroller while participating in the alleged retail theft, police said. Three teenagers face drug possession charges after Collier Township police officers said they found them in a car at the Panhandle Trail parking lot earlier this month. Police said they noticed the car in the parking lot around 10 p.m. on Feb. 4 and investigated because there were people in the car moving around and trying to conceal something. Police said they charged Cody Bean, 19, of Rosslyn Farms with possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and receiving stolen property. Police said he was wearing a ring that belonged to his mother, which she reported was stolen. A man who apparently knew he would be searched for drugs when he arrived at the Bridgeville Police Department to aid in an investigation still allegedly brought illegal prescription drugs and paraphernalia with him, police said Brenton Dillon, 28, of Bridgeville, came to the borough’s police station on Jan. 23 and was told earlier he would be searched by officers before the interview began. But as officers approached him for the search, police said he reached into his pants pocket and tried to hide something in his hand.
