Who has the best “decked” house in Chartiers Valley? This home uploaded by Annemarie D. with its white lights, reindeer and Santa Claus has the best holiday spirit in Bridgeville, Collier, Heidelberg and Scott Township! We had tons of national entries in this year’s Deck the House contest and in our quest to find the most over-the-top holiday decorations in the country, we’ve seen everything from a life-size Santa to holiday lights so bright they could blind the neighbors. We loved showcasing everyone’s holiday spirit, but Deck the House isn’t over yet. You know what they say—no (goblin) guts, no glory. Congratulations to Lucian Meckley, who has been selected as the Pennsylvania winner of Patch’s Best Halloween Costume in America Contest. Lucian was chosen from among the adults and children from across Pennsylvania who entered the contest. Parents posted hundreds of costume photos of themselves and their families from this Halloween or from years past. We had lots of ghouls, ghosts, and Honey Boo Boos to choose from, but we were won over by Lucian's recycling truck costume, assembled by Dad and Mom from cardboard, a set of stroller wheels and a frame built from re-purposed wood. Wookie from Y108 will be broadcasting live tonight at Chartiers Valley's home game against Montour.
Chartiers Valley High School won the Y108 FM Boys of Fall contest and will have the radio station broadcast live from this tonight’s home game against Montour. With 2,387 votes, Chartiers Valley beat out Plum, Highlands and McKeesport to Y108’s Wookie broadcast the radio show from their stadium beginning at 7 p.m. Meanwhile, the school that receives the most votes all year from the Boys of Fall contest will grand prize pep rally starring , Lauren Alaina, an American Idol finalist and Mercury Nashville recording artist.
