Police: School Bus Driver Didn't Have Insurance
State police said the contracted school bus company didn't have insurance when its drivers made 160 bus runs for Chartiers Valley from December to April.
The owner of a company contracted to do substitute bus driving for Chartiers Valley School District faces numerous charges after state police said he didn’t have insurance while driving students for nearly five months. Michael N. Krawec, 25, of Pittsburgh, did not have proper insurance when troopers say his company made 160 bus runs for Chartiers Valley from Dec. 7 to April 25. According to a Pennsylvania State Police press release, an anonymous caller alerted troopers at the Moon Township barracks to the situation on April 9. Later that month, investigators went to the company’s bus depot in Baldwin and found an insurance card that was supposed to cover all Chartiers Valley buses that expired on Oct. 5.
