Bridgeville Police Arrest Burglar

Police have arrested a Washington County man in connection with the burglary of a Bridgeville home last week. Read about that and other crime in the weekly Bridgeville police blotter.

Bridgeville police have arrested a Washington County man in connection with the burglary of a borough home last week. Police said a home in the 100 block of Union Street was broken into on Oct. 24 and several items inside the residence were stolen. The resident called police around 8:40 p.m. on the day of the burglary. Investigators eventually obtained a warrant for Brian Parris, 27, of Washington, and arrested him. He faces charges of burglary, criminal trespassing, theft and receiving stolen property.   Bridgeville Old refrigerators leads to citation: A Bridgeville woman was cited after borough police said she had left a refrigerator on her porch for nearly two months. Burglars Hit Scott Township Home

Scott Township Home burglarized: Scott Township police said a Greenbriar Drive home was “forcibly entered” and several items were stolen on Oct. 22. Police did not say what items were stolen or whether the burglars damaged the home. Man found staggering with syringes: Scott Township police said they arrested David Loidl, 27, of Scott, after they found him staggering in the early hours of Oct. 26. Police said they found him with syringes and he gave officers false information. There was also a warrant for his arrest. Teen Injured After Crashing Dirt Bike into Police Car

A Scott Township teenager suffered serious leg injuries when police said he fled from officers on his dirt bike and crashed into a Collier Township police cruiser. Read about that and other news in the weekly Collier Township police blotter.

A Scott Township teenager suffered serious leg injuries when police said he fled from officers on his dirt bike and crashed into a police cruiser. Collier Township police said on Aug. 28 they were called to assist Scott Township police in pursuing 19-year-old Steve Romain after officers noticed his dirt bike did not have working lights and was not properly registered. Police chased him from Glendale and he eventually ended up on Noblestown Road in Collier before turning onto parallel railroad tracks. One officer followed him while another cruiser was parked at a grassy outlet to block his exit near Dorrington Road, police said. A Scott Township man is accused of breaking into a home and assaulting another person inside. Scott police arrested 19-year-old Robert Tracy after investigators said he “forcibly entered” a Cynthia Drive home shortly before midnight on Aug. 9 and attacked a man inside the residence. Police said Tracy was drunk at the time, and they charged him with burglary, criminal mischief, assault, public drunkenness and underage drinking. Mother, Son Allegedly Went on Crime Spree

Police say they used a stolen credit card to buy booze and conspired to burglarize a local bar.

Police say a mother and son went on a 24-hour crime spree around Bridgeville and Collier last week, using a stolen credit card to buy booze and allegedly conspiring to burglarize a local bar. Investigators arrested Michael Tharp, 28, of Cecil, and Wanda Balukus, 51, of Bridgeville, and charged them with numerous crimes. Bridgeville police Chief Chad King said the crime spree started when Tharp stole a wallet and credit card from a customers at Sauce on June 18. King said he gave the credit card to his mom, who later used it to buy alcohol and other merchandise at the Beer Warehouse, 7-Eleven convenience store, Kmart and Wine & Spirits store. Thief Steals Cash, Hoagies From Shop

DiMario’s Railroad Street Cafe in Bridgeville was burglarized early Tuesday morning.

A hungry burglar broke into DiMario’s Railroad Street Cafe in Bridgeville early Tuesday morning and stole the cash register, several bottles of liquor… and four hoagies. Bridgeville police said someone used a rock to smash the door of the restaurant at 429 Railroad St. some time after 2:30 a.m. and took the $20 of cash, four bottles of various liquors and the sandwiches. Bridgeville police Chief Chad King said they were able to recover blood from the scene when the person was cut on the door and are testing the DNA samples to find a match. They’re also were looking for fingerprints inside the building and on bottles. Collier Township Resident foils burglary: A person lounging in their Collier Township home was startled earlier this month when a burglar entered their home and could be heard rustling around in the basement. Collier police said a white man in his 40s broke into the Joyce Drive home on June 11. The resident heard the commotion downstairs and went into the basement to confront the person. Man Accused of Burglarizing Vacant Home with Boy Heading to Trial

The most serious charges against William Gregory, the man accused of burglarizing a vacant home with his 7-year-old nephew, have been dropped, although he will head to trial on several other counts.

The most serious charges against a man accused of breaking into a vacant home with his 7-year-old nephew have been dropped while several others were waived to trial. In a deal reached with William Gregory before his preliminary hearing this week, Bridgeville police agreed to withdraw burglary and theft charges, while reducing the severity of a felony criminal trespassing charge. Gregory, 21, of Carnegie, will still head to trial on charges of endangering the welfare of a child, corruption of minors, criminal mischief and one count of felony criminal trespassing. I hope the police were notified of these issues, especially the rock through the window. That could have hurt someone. Trouble "follows" this family wherever they live. There were two articles about them in the paper last year and they have been in the police blotter over and over and over again.
