Two men accused of breaking-in to two Scott Township homes earlier this month are heading to trial on burglary and other charges. Brian Butt, 27, of Bridgeville, and Grant Goeckeler, 29, of Scott, are accused of burglarizing a home in the 1300 block of Meadowlark Drive shortly on Jan. 8. Scott Township police said the resident came home and found the door open and markings on a rear door. Police said they later found Butt and Goeckeler nearby with some of the items allegedly stolen from the house. Scott Township police are investigating another burglary in the Birdland neighborhood. Police said a resident returned home from vacation on Jan. 10 to find their home in the 1400 block of Raven Drive was burglarized. It is not know when the burglary happened, police said, because the resident apparently was away from New Year’s Day until Jan. 10. Police did not say what, if anything, was taken from the home. Investigators are not sure if the break-in is related to two burglaries on Meadowlark Drive last week. Grant Goeckeler, 29, of Scott, and Brian Butt, 27, of Bridgeville, were charged in connection with those burglaries. Two men were arrested after Scott Township police said they burglarized two homes in the Birdland neighborhood this week. Police said a resident returned to their home in the 1300 block of Meadowlark Drive shortly after noon on Jan. 8 and found the door open and markings on a rear door. Officers responding to the scene found Grant Goeckeler, 29, of Scott, and Brian Butt, 27, of Bridgeville, in the area with evidence that investigators say linked them to the burglary. "They were in custody minutes after officers arrived on scene," Scott Township police Sgt. Steve Fury said. Driver suffered a seizure and lost control, speeding through several yards in Scott.
George Ponchione stepped onto his front porch at 12:45 p.m. Friday and headed for his car, intending to drive from his home in Scott Township’s Birdland neighborhood to Our Lady of Grace Church on Bower Hill Road. Instead, he spent the afternoon with his neighbors on Raven Drive, taking photographs and marveling at the block-long swath of damage left by a sport utility vehicle that went out of control on his street.
