Scott Township Comedian Featured in P-G

Mike Buzzelli, a humor columnist who wrote for Chartiers Valley Patch, talks to the newspaper about growing up in Scott Township and where comedy has taken him in life.

Mike Buzzelli, who stirred up strong opinions and funny memories of Scott Township in his humor column on Chartiers Valley Patch, was featured in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette this week. In the Post-Gazette article that appeared in Thursday’s West Section, the 1981 Chartiers Valley High School graduate discusses his comedy show appearances around the South Hills and his local upbringing that helped to forge his humor. Scott Township Author Releases Humor Book

Mike Buzzelli is publishing 64 humor columns and short stories about his life and upbringing in Scott Township.

A local author isn’t afraid to ruffle a few feathers in his recently released book that contains numerous humor columns and short stories he’s penned over the past few years. Mike Buzzelli, who lives in Scott Township and graduated from Chartiers Valley in 1981, credits his upbringing for his humor and work ethic. A stint as a stand-up comedian in Los Angeles also gave him a different perspective of other people from around the country. “I think living in Scott gave me a unique perspective,” Buzzelli said. “I knew lots of funny people in Chartiers Valley and around the area. I think we have that strong work ethic here. I certainly stay busy with writing columns and holding down a job. I think that’s a Pittsburgh attitude.” In his new book…
