State Rep. Nick Kotik, D-Robinson, beat Republican challenger Aaron Kime to hold onto his 45th state House District seat.
More than a year ago, Nick Kotik thought his political career was over when Republicans redistricted and moved his state House district to eastern Pennsylvania. But the state Supreme Court threw out the maps and forced Republicans to redraw the district lines and giving Kotik new political life. On Tuesday night, the Democrat from Robinson Township won re-election to his sixth term by fending off his Republican challenger. "I never thought this is where I would be a year ago," Kotik said Tuesday night. Kotik easily beat challenger Aaron Kime with 67 percent of the vote in a rematch to the 2010 race for the 45th state House District.
