Heidelberg is a borough located in Allegheny County with 1,225 residents as of the 2000 Census. The borough was once part of Collier Township, but formed its own municipality in 1903. At the time, many of the town's residents were of German descent, so they decided to name the new borough after Heidelberg. Joseph Kauer serves as the borough manager and Kenneth LaSota is the town's mayor.
