Scott Library Hosts Annual Book Sale

The annual book sale runs through the weekend at the Scott Park Community Room.

This summer, you may have taken a good book to the pool. This fall, you can take a good book home from the pool.

The are currently hosting their annual book sale in the Community Room (just above the now empty swimming pool).

Avid readers lined up for the start of the sale Thursday when the doors opened up at noon.

There are all sorts of books on sale at the annual event, from large print, children and young adult to health books and cookbooks. On Wednesday night, the Friends of the Library had a private sale event, open to members, giving them a chance to make the first selections.

Annette McGanka is the chairperson of the used book sale. She has been a member of the Scott Township Friends of the Library for a few years, but this is her first year as chair.

β€œOn Saturday you can fill a grocery bag full of books and we’ll charge just three dollars for the whole bag full," McGanka said.

Saldy, this may be the last year for the used book sale, McGanka said. The volunteer numbers are dwindling and we desperately need more help.

If you want to volunteer, go to www.scottlibrary.org.

The hours of the book sale are Friday, Sept. 23: 10 am - 6 pm, Saturday, Sept. 24: 10 am - 6 pm (at which point all books will be half-price) and on Sunday, Sept. 25: 11 am - 5 pm ($3.00 a bag).
