Scott Conservancy Celebrates Green Space

Members will gather for a picnic near the Whiskey Trail

Members of the Scott Conservancy will gather for a picnic Wednesday night to celebrate the progress they’ve made and share ideas on how to make more improvements.

The fourth annual picnic at Whiskey Point Trailhead off Scrubgrass Road is a lovely social event that highlights the work the Conservancy has done to revitalize the wooded trail and clean nearby ponds.

“It’s kind of a nice thing to recognize our members and give them something they can enjoy and do socially,” said Jane Sorcan, who is the Conservancy’s treasurer. “Maybe they can get to know each other betters. It’s just a fun thing.”

The food is donated and chairs are optional. But the green space is what the members come to enjoy. Some members do exploring while other take guided walks on the trail.

“We’ve got this beautiful land we’ve saved and shelter,” Sorcan said. “We celebrate what we’ve saved and made into green space.”
