"Earlier this year, we were contacted about a pit bull in need. Isis had a home—her owner Dave was battling cancer and living in a home hospice care situation. Dave wanted to be sure Isis would have somewhere safe to go when the time came. In mid-April, we drove to Mt. Washington to meet Dave and Isis. Dave told us on the phone that he was so happy we were going to do what we could to help him. He said it gave him a great feeling of peace.

Sadly, Dave had passed just an hour before we arrived. A caring neighbor took Isis to her home because they didn’t want to let Animal Control officers take her. We spoke with the neighbor, explained who we were and why we were there. The neighbor was so happy and relieved that we were there to help. We loaded Isis up and brought her to the Hello Bully Halfway House. We really felt for her. We knew it was a good day for her, but she’d just lost everything she ever knew.

To look into her eyes is to fall in love with her. You can tell that Isis is a sweet, old soul. We quickly saw that Isis was going to be just fine. She settled in quickly and was so happy to be with people. Isis is an 8-year-old puppy. She has such a sparkle in her eye. She is spunky and loves to meet new people.

She does not like other dogs, so she is looking for a family where she will be the only pet. Isis is spayed, vaccinated and in great health. She is completely housebroken and knows basic cues such as sit, down, and paw.

She loves playing with tennis balls and will play indoors or out for as long as you’re willing to throw the ball! Isis is an easy going dog who would be fine living in a home or apartment. She wants to be active when you want to be active, and chill out on the couch and snuggle with you any other time.

Could you be the one to help Isis find her way back into a forever home?
