Pet Adoptions: Meet Beauty!

Beauty is looking for a new home after she was surrendered to the Animal Rescue League of Pittsburgh by her owner due to a move.

Beauty and her sister, Bella, were surrendered to the Animal Rescue League of Pittsburgh by their owner due to a move.

They are a cute blend of Shepherd and Basset Hound, with the latter showing in their short legs and stature. They are friendly, energetic dogs, about 8 months old, weighing about 50 pounds.

Despite her small statue, Beauty is a strong dog who will benefit from some obedience training classes. As you can tell from the picture, Beauty is eager to give and receive affection. She's very playful and fun to hang out with. But due to some food aggression issues, we do not think a home with small kids would be advisable for her.

Beauty is friendly toward other dogs, and it's possible she could be adopted into an existing canine family, although the potential food issues should be discussed with our adoptions counselors beforehand. For inquiries about Beauty, please contact her volunteer friend Laura at lauralatini54@yahoo.com.

Come to the Animal Rescue League at 6620 Hamilton Ave. in East Liberty or call 412-661-6452 to meet any of the available dogs and cats. The shelter is open for adoptions Tuesday through Friday 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday through Monday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
