Patch Pets: Meet Draco

Help Draco at the Animal Rescue League find a new home.

Draco is a 5-year-old Rottweiler in need of a new home after a rough couple of weeks.

After recently being adopted, the new owners said he didn't get along with their existing dog, so he was taken back to the Animal Rescue League.

His frame is small for a rottie, but he needs to lose quite a bit of weight (he is 96 pounds at the moment, but he needs to lose at least 10 or more.)

He is house trained, loves belly rubs, loves rides in the car, and has great experience with children in his former home. He would make an excellent companion.

He was surrendered because his owner did not have time to take care of him. Draco lived with kids in his former home and was very good with them, tending to be a little protective of them which is typical of the breed. He also lived with cats with no reported problems. Draco is generally friendly toward other dogs, but we feel he'd probably do best being adopted as a solo dog.

He's well-behaved indoors and was not crated in his former home. Draco knows all the basic commands and also rides well in the car. While he certainly enjoys romping outside, chasing balls, and playing with his rope toys, he's also content to be a 'couch potato' and relax indoors with his people. If you have room for a large dog and prefer a slightly older dog who's already trained and reliable, come down and meet Draco!
Give Draco a second chance and visit ARL if you're looking for a new family member!
