American Cancer Society's Relay For Life Coming to South Fayette

The American Cancer Society is organizing its annual Bridgeville/South Fayette Relay For Life fundraising event that will take place May 19 and 20.

The American Cancer Society is organizing its annual that will take place later this month.

People who want to participate in the overnight walk around South Fayette High School’s track will gather at the stadium from noon May 19 until 8 a.m. May 20.

The Relay For Life is the signature fundraiser of the American Cancer Society where communities come together to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost and fight back against the disease.

The fundraiser encourages cancer survivors, patients, medical support staff, corporations, civic organizations, churches and community volunteers to participate to raise money for research. Teams of people from area companies, clubs, neighborhoods and families raise funds prior to the event and then take turns walking the track in relays.

“Relay For Life reminds us that progress has been made in the fight against cancer and that everyone who participates is making a difference,” the American Cancer Society said in a press release.
