Phillies Postpone Home Opener Due to Wet Forecast

A forecast of considerable rain has prompted the Phillies to postpone the home opener to Tuesday.

A forecast of rain has prompted the Phillies to postpone Monday's home opener at Citizens Bank Park.

The home opener will now be Tuesday at 4:05 p.m. against the Brewers. Tuesday's forecast calls for cloudy skies but no rain, according to the Weather Channel.

A statement posted on the Phillies website says tickets for Monday's game will be honored for Tuesday. Gates open at 1:35 p.m.

Agreed. Opening Day features a lot of pre-game festivities and it sets the tone for the season. If it were a mid-season weekday game, I'd say take the chance, but not the Home Opener. Gotta do it right! Go Phillies!

Why are we getting Philly news on a Pgh community site.? What hapened to local coverage?. That is what made Patch such a unique useable site.

Something must be linked wrong with this story because your Pittsburgh comments are showing up on our Philly suburb patch...

There's nothing wrong. This is the new delocalized Patch. They've cross-published this story to all websites in Pennsylvania. That's why you're seeing everyone's comments. For some reason, the people in New York City think we Pittsburghers give a hoot about the Phillies getting rained out.
