Holy Child Soccer Team Wins Diocese Championship

The Holy Child Chargers on Sunday became the 2013 winner of the World Cup Diocesan Championship.

The Chargers, Holy Child's Junior Varsity Soccer Team, defeated St. Bede School on June 2 in an overtime victory of 2-1 at the Riverhounds Stadium in Pittsburgh.

Holy Child won its section with a 7-1 seasonal record.  The team advanced to the playoffs and won games against St. Ursula School and North American Martyrs School.

The Chargers are coached by Bob Fleming, Kendra Smith, and Mallory Marsh, and the team involves students in fourth, fifth and sixth grades.
