The Collier Township/Chartiers Valley Little League Team returns from California today, Tuesday, Aug. 6, and the community is planning a celebration to welcome the team home.

Although the Collier team lost in the final round, they leave the World Series with the United States Championship title.

The team left last Sunday for Livermore, Calif. after winning the East Regional Championship title in New York to play in the Little League Intermediate Division World Series.

The Collier boys beat the Southwest Regional Championship team—Post Oak Little League of Texas— by a score of 5-4 to become the United States Champions. Collier lost in the final round to Asia-Pacific with a score of 10-1.
