Collier's Little League Baseball Team Loses in Semifinals to World Series

Collier lost 9-4 to New Jersey in the Little League World Series regional semifinals.

Collier lost 9-4 to New Jersey after winning.

The 6-inning semi-final playoff game in Bristol, CT, New Jersey now will play Delaware at 5 p.m. Sunday to decide who represents the Mid-Atlantic Region at the Little League World Series in Williamsport.

The kids from Collier fell behind early. But they scored three runs in the 3rd inning to tie the score at 4. But a flurry of homeruns by New Jersey in the 5th and 6th innings put the game out of reach.

The team that Collier entered in the Little League World Series is a regional AAU team called the Pittsburgh Lightning. The team includes 4 or 5 boys from Canon McMillan. It is a shame when winning becomes more important than integrity and sportsmanship. This is very typical of the Collier baseball association.
