students participated in the annual Turkey Trot last week to raise money for needy families.

The annual event on Friday raised more than $3,000 that will be used to purchase supermarket gift cards to area families in need during the holidays.

The run from the stadium around the high school and back to the football field also raised awareness about exercising and healthy living. The public address announcer could be heard shouting encouragement that “running is fun” and “you can do it” to the students.
