Preserving the Harvest

Preserving the Harvest

The Scott Conservancy is sponsoring a community education program for the general public on Thursday,
July 26,7:00-8:00 pm at the Lodge in Scott Park.
The cost to attend is just $5.00.

Allegheny County Penn State Master Gardeners will present “Preserving the Harvest” in a continuing series of educational classes.  How do you choose the right plant varieties if you want to preserve?  How do you pick which method to preserve your harvest?  Come to this class and learn the basics of canning, drying, and freezing.
Preserving is easy, fun, and satisfying. Whether it is your own harvest or a purchased harvest from the local
farmer's market, you can learn how to can, freeze, and dry the bounty for the best tasting foods throughout the year.
Recipes included.
