CV To Host Community Health Extravaganza

The community event will feature health and fitness vendors from around Pittsburgh.

The Chartiers Valley School District will host an event in October to encourage good health in the community and show parents what their students already are learning.

The Chartiers Valley Primary School and High School physical education teachers will be hosting a Health Extravaganza in the High School and Middle School gymnasiums on Wednesday, Oct. 16 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

The Chartiers Valley Health and Physical Education curriculum, as well as promoting healthy living in the community, will be showcased.

Several vendors will be at the event, including the following: Pittsburgh Chiropractic and Wellness; Farm to Table; Giant Eagle "Kids can Cook"; Poisoning and Drug Prevention from Rite Aid; HE@T Health Enhancing Thermography; Teen Resource Center; LA Fitness; and Fritz Physical Therapy.

Chartiers Valley school district teachers will provide additional learning activities. The Primary school will set up an obstacle course for kids and the high school will offer lessons in Pickleball.

Free day care will be available so parents can drop off their children and enjoy the vendors.

Information about the Community Health Extravaganza also is available on the Chartiers Valley School District website.
