CV Seniors Produce Another Music Video

The 2012 seniors are back with another lip dub video of "I Gotta Feeling" by the Black Eye Peas.

The senior class is back with another popular “lip dub” performance.

More than 70 students spent several hours after school on April 24 performing several takes with the Black Eye Peas’ hit song “I Gotta Feeling” playing in the background.

, this year’s video has students wearing Chartiers Valley shirts and jerseys while lip-syncing to the music.

Jeff Ackermann, who teaches television and media production at the high school, wasn’t sure if the 2012 senior class wanted to do another video. But a number of students begged him to do it again.

“It’s very challenging, but a lot of the kids wanted to do it,” Ackermann said. “I wasn’t sure we were going to do it, but they wanted to again. They’ve been waiting since sophomore year (when the school did its first lip dub video for the Pittsburgh Penguins).”

The video already has nearly 2,200 views on YouTube a week after it was posted following a couple hours of editing by Ackermann and the students.

Ackermann said it’s too early to know if they’ll do it again next year, but he wouldn’t be surprised if the high school keeps it as annual tradition.

“I’m not going to force-feed them, but if they’re motivated, we’ll do it,” he said. “You always want the kids to take it by the horns and want to lead it. They organize it and take care of it. This year was no different.”
