CV School Board Approves Proposed Budget

Chartiers Valley's proposed 2013-14 budget accounts for changes to property values after Allegheny County reassessments.

Chartiers Valley School Board last week adopted a proposed budget for the 2013-14 school year.

The $54,604,359 budget includes a tax rate of 16.1445 mills.

The millage rate set by the 2012-13 budget was 19.88 mills. The rate is lower in the 2013-14 budget to account for the change in local property values, as a result of mandated Allegheny County property reassessments.

Chartiers Valley Superintendent Brian White said the budget numbers are still in flux, and could change as more detailed information about local assessment values becomes available from the county.

A presentation about the 2013-14 budget is planned for the May 28 Chartiers Valley School Board meeting. After that meeting, the final budget will be available for public review, and the board will vote on the final budget at the end of June.
