Top-seeded Chartiers Valley mounted a furious comeback in the second half to beat rival South Fayette and advance to the semi-final round of the WPIAL basketball playoffs Friday night.

Things were looking bleak at halftime when the Colts trailed South Fayette 35-30 going into the intermission, and things appeared to sour even more when the Lions scored the first seven points in the third quarter. But the Colts got back in the game by mounting a fast comeback to take a 47-46 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

South Fayette then once again turned the momentum and roared to a 9-point lead with 5 minutes to go in the game. But CV came back again to cut the lead to 2 with 3 minutes left and took the lead shortly after.
