Steen Road Bridge Repairs Approved

The bridge could be reopened as soon as next week

The Steen Road bridge likely will be fixed over the weekend and could reopen as soon as next week.

The bridge, , will be fitted with temporary metal blockades that could last more than two years until a permanent solution is funded. The work will be performed by Independent Enterprises, Inc. and cost the township $8,900.

The company originally suggested propping up the bridge using wooded blocks, but the metal blockades apparently will last much longer. Collier Township and PennDOT engineers met recently and decided this would be the best solution.
