Route 50 Closed in Carnegie

Traffic is being rerouted around the area this week.

Even the four “Road Closed” signs that dotted Route 50 in Carnegie over the weekend weren’t enough to keep confused motorists away from a traffic headache.

would be closed near the Chartiers Valley Boys & Girls Club so ALCOSAN could work on a sewer line and stream restoration project. The road is closed at Trimble Avenue, but local traffic can still get through back roads.

Still, the closures apparently caused headaches Saturday as crews began work in the area. That prompted Scott and Carnegie police to reposition the closure signs that still allow some traffic through. Scott police also positioned a squad car at Hope Hollow Road to move traffic away from the area.
