Hearing on Bedner's Continues with More Testimony

Monday night's public hearing on the proposed Bedner's neighborhood has been moved to Upper St. Clair's community rec center to accommodate a large crowd.

The Board of Commissioners meeting on Monday, March 5 has changed locations.

The meeting will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the in order to accommodate a large crowd. The rec center is located at 1551 Mayview Rd. in Upper St. Clair.

Multiple public hearings are scheduled during the meeting.

Bedner Estates Public Hearing
The Bedner Estates public hearing will continue on Monday night. . Commissioners asked the developers—Heartland Homes and J.T. Thomas Homes—to take another look at creating an entrance on Bower Hill Road.

"It (Bedner's Farm) is going to be developed. The question is what's the best way," President of Heartland Homes Marty Gillespie told the crowd.

He also said that an entrance on Bower Hill Road was not possible.

"We've had numerous meetings with Upper St. Clair Township and it's just not going to happen," he said.

Gillespie told the audience it was up to the Upper St. Clair commissioners whether there would be a third entrance on Main Street in Bridgeville or not.

The other two entrances would be on Cook School Road.

The commissioners will not be required to take a vote on the issue Monday night.

 

Two Public Hearings for Ardolino's Pizza
Two public hearings are planned involving .

First, to build a new restaurant next to their current building on Boyce Road. Their plan includes an outdoor dining area and upgrades for Maple Lane.

The Ardolinos said they would hope to lease their current building out to another business when the new restaurant opens.

Second, the Ardolinos are looking to obtain a liquor license transfer from Hampton Township to use at the new restaurant.
