Opinions Wanted on Tri-Community Revitalization

Residents are asked for their input for the project through Heidelberg, Scott and Carnegie.

Residents living in Scott, Heidelberg and Carnegie are being asked to offer their opinions on the that is planned for the three towns.

The meeting will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Carnegie Municipal Complex located at 1 Veterans Way.

The three towns are involved in a project to revitalize , Third Street in Carnegie and . PennDOT is repaving the roads and the towns are making improvements to the curbs and sidewalks.

But a third portion of the revitalization is how to help improve other aspects of the corridor. Municipal officials want the residents and business owners along that stretch to offer their input as they draft a comprehensive plan.

The $2.8 million construction project is expected to begin next spring and will improve traffic patterns, pedestrian walkways and neighborhood aesthetics.

Plans for the entire streetscape project must be scaled back slightly after . Municipal officials are discussing what changes can be made to bring the project under budget.
