Constant truck traffic and a weird smell coming from the industrial park behind Kirwan Heights is making residents wonder what is happening to their neighborhood.

The neighborhood is split between Route 50 and a sprawling industrial park near Mayer Street, but residents are now saying a funky smell is starting to permeate their area.

The problem has become so great that several residents came to the in April to complain about the problems. However, the township has to balance a valuable tax base that produces jobs with the complaints from its residents.

Still, he acknowledged it’s an important tax base for the township that provides good jobs for the area. Neither Sirabella nor the township commissioners have a problem, but they hope to look into the issues.
