Former U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter died Sunday morning due to complications from non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, according to reports from numerous news agencies. Specter was 82.
The Pennsylvania senator was elected to the Senate in 1980 and served for 30 years, which is longer than any other Pennsylvania senator. He lost the seat in 2010 after switching from the Republican to the Democratic party and losing a primary campaign against Joe Sestak.
