Collier Begins Search for Manager

Board officials accepted Gary Vituccio's resignation

Collier Township commissioners formally accepted the resignation of the municipal manager and will begin searching for his replacement this week.

The board voted 5-0 during Wenesday night’s meeting tohe tendered on April 22 and also agreed to a separation agreement. Vituccio joined Collier Township two years ago after previously working as the manager for Kennedy Township.

The search committee will consist of commissioners Bob Schuler, Kay Downey-Clarke, Tim Young and Wilson Durisko. Commissioner George Macino will not take part in the search because he is considering applying for the position.

Until a candidate is selected, the office staff and commissioners will complete the daily administrative work.

Also during the meeting…

-Township and PennDOT engineers were expected to meet Friday to see whether temporary repairs can be made on the Steen Road bridge. If so, there will be cost estimates made for repairs and the two sides will discuss what needs to be done to move forward. Collier Township entered into in March.

-The commissioners approved the Concerts in the Park series. Groove Merchant will play May 22, Bill Toms Blues and Folk band will play June 26, The-Mansfield-5 will perform July 31 and RML Jazz will play Aug. 28. All of the concerts will begin at 7 p.m. except RML, which might begin earlier.
