Worker Accused of Peeping with Cell Phone Camera

A Pittsburgh man is accused of using his cell phone to take photos under the skirt of a co-worker at a Scott Township business. Read about that and other crime news in the weekly Scott Township police blotter.

A Beechview man is accused of using his cell phone to take photos under the skirt of a co-worker at a Scott Township business.

said they charged 46-year-old Nicholas DePersis with harassment and disorderly conduct after he allegedly took photos of a woman at Bruce and DePersis Consulting Actuaries Office on Aug. 29.

According to police, DePersis crouched behind the woman, held the cell phone under her skirt and took photos. He is listed as an account manager at in the Manor Oak Two office complex.

Investigators said they were not able to recover photos, but will have the woman testify.

Police said they plan to send him citations in the mail.

Man allegedly held knife to woman’s throat: Thomas Lopez, 47, of Scott, was charged with aggravated assault after township police said he held a knife to the throat of a woman while they were arguing. However, police said the woman suffered only minor injuries while in the 500 block of Carothers Avenue on Aug. 28.

Two accused of shoplifting at Walmart: Matthew Armstrong, 25, of Ross Township, and Jennifer Bender, 25, of Glendshaw, face retail theft, conspiracy and receiving stolen property charges after Scott Township police said they stole a laptop computer and two floor scrubbers from Walmart on Aug. 31. Police estimate the value of all the items at $1,500.

Prescription drug charges: Scott police are accusing a township resident of threatening a woman along Washington Avenue after investigators said he tried to sell he prescription medicine and she refused. Police said 20-year-old Bryan McGraw approached the female around 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 31 and tried to sell the meds. Police charged McGraw with drug possession, witness intimidation and trespassing.

Woman found drunk at apartment complex: Monica Starr, 42, of Scott, was charged with public drunkenness after township police said she was found incapacitated at Kings Grant apartment complex on Sept. 1.

DUI arrest: Nicholas Smith, 30, of Canonsburg, was charged with drunken driving after Scott police said they stopped his car along Greentree Road on Sept. 1.

Fight leads to charges: Scott Township police said they charged 27-year-old John R. Liggett with assault and possession of drug paraphernalia following a fight on Aug. 28.

Disorderly conduct charge: Sioban Herron, 20, of Scott, was charged with disorderly conduct following a traffic stop along Route 50 on Aug. 30.

Bicycle stolen: A black Diamondback bike was stolen in the 400 block of Hoff Street on Aug. 27, Scott Township police said.

Scrap metal stolen: Scrap metal and other various items were stolen from a detached garage in the 500 block of Finley Avenue on Aug. 27, Scott police said.
