Woman Accused of Making False Report to Police Waives Charges

A Heidelberg woman accused of alerting police to a false emergency is heading to trial on most of the charges.

A Heidelberg woman accused of alerting police to a false emergency is heading to trial on most of the charges.

Heidelberg police said Heather Dickson, 27, called officers to her borough home last month for a report of an argument with another person.

But police said there was never an emergency and she lied to them about the incident. Police charged her on March 4 after investigating.

Dickson waived to court charges of false information to police, false reports and false alarms to emergency responders.

Charges held for court

  • A theft charge against Matthew Buckingham of Pittsburgh was held for court. Buckingham was charged in Scott Township on Jan. 10.

 

Charges waived to court

  • Charges of drunken driving and speeding against Cameron L. Lucas, 27, of Dormont, were waived to court. Scott Township police arrested Lucas on Dec. 23.
  • Charges of fleeing police, disorderly conduct, driving on a suspended license and several traffic citations against Corey Kemp, 19, of Pittsburgh, were waived to court. Scott Township police charged Kemp on Jan. 13.
  • A charge of possession of a controlled substance against Margaret M. Popp, 43, of South Fayette, was waived to court. Scott Township police charged Popp on Dec. 3.

 

Charges reduced or withdrawn

  • A retail theft charge against Alysha Bowman, 20, of Pittsburgh, was reduced to a non-traffic citation while a conspiracy charge was withdrawn. Scott Township police charged Bowman on Oct. 16.
  • Charges of driving on a suspended license and driving without insurance against James D. Petrick, 49, of Morgantown, W.Va., were moved to traffic citations while a fleeing police charges was withdrawn. Scott Township police originally charged Petrick on Jan. 5.

Charges waived to court

  • Charges of drunken driving and driving an unregistered vehicle against Bryan M. Palmer, 39, of Bridgeville, were waived to court. Bridgeville police charged Palmer on Jan. 9.
